Stories in the Round (modification)

I made a very cute addition to the Stories in the Round idea.

I chose to put the students' desks in groups of five in a circle formation. I then discussed King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. We talked about the legend and what a legend is. We discussed how council worked together as a group to accomplish goals, even King Arthur. I then explained to my 4th graders that today they were going to be a part of King Arthur's court. I'm sure you can see where this is going. I enjoyed using a two minute clip of the movie starring Richard Gear and Shawn Connery to better illustrate the round table and what it meant to the council. Hope it works for others as well as it did for me. The kids loved it!
